When we have a blank canvas or a blank page, it offers infinite possibilities but the same possibilities are often daunting. They kind of limit us in a funny way and do not support the act of beginning. We all go through this in various ways whenever it comes to creating something.
The best talked about way to tackle this situation is “constraints”, the limitations, the boundaries! These can potentially help us to pave a path. A path which makes it a bit easy to start.
Imagine if we have to go from A to B, without a road but on an infinite plain, where B is not visible yet. It will be very hard to understand how to start and whether we are heading in right direction or we drifted or went in circles, it will be impossible to judge.
Now, imagine if we have a visible milestones laid on the bath like connecting dots. I think, it ill be a bit more easy. What if there is a clear street from A to B, whallaaa! things got super easy.
Well, the milestones, streets are the constraints we put between A and B. The purpose of it was to help us limit the uncertainties. Just like that, if we can add well-defined constraints in our creative work, it will be easy to begin and keep building. We just have to look at optimistically. They are more like guides than limits!
